Nike is expanding its performance recovery portfolio with the launch of the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide, a recovery-focused slide developed in partnership with wellness technology company Hyperice. Designed to combine wearable comfort with active recovery, the new footwear integrates heat therapy, vibration massage, and Nike’s Air Zoom cushioning into a single product that athletes can wear immediately after training or throughout the day.

The Air Zoom Hyperslide marks the second collaboration between Nike and Hyperice following the introduction of the Hyperboot in 2025. While the Hyperboot focuses on preparing athletes before activity through dynamic air compression and heat, the Hyperslide shifts its focus to post-exercise recovery, aiming to reduce foot fatigue and promote relaxation after physical exertion.

Recovery Technology Built Into Everyday Footwear

The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide packages recovery technology into a slip-on sandal intended for everyday mobility.

At the center of the system is the Hyperslide Pod, a removable magnetic module integrated into the adjustable upper strap. The rechargeable pod delivers:

  • Three levels of heat
  • Three adjustable vibration settings
  • Pre-programmed 15-minute recovery sessions
  • On-device controls as well as Bluetooth connectivity through the Hyperice mobile app

The module directs heat and vibration across the top of the foot, an area where tension often builds after prolonged activity. Users can customize recovery intensity either directly from the pod or through the companion app, allowing sessions to be tailored to individual preferences.

Combining Passive Comfort With Active Recovery

The Air Zoom Hyperslide differs from traditional recovery sandals by combining passive cushioning with active therapeutic features.

Nike incorporates its full-length Air Zoom cushioning, providing responsive comfort while walking. Meanwhile, the embedded Hyperice technology simultaneously delivers heat and vibration therapy during movement.

This dual-function approach reflects a broader shift in sports technology, where recovery is increasingly being integrated into equipment worn throughout the day.

According to Nike’s Athlete Innovation team, the product was shaped by feedback from both elite competitors and everyday athletes, many of whom requested a combination of cushioning, heat, and vibration within a wearable format.

Designed Beyond Elite Sports

Although performance athletes remain a primary audience, Nike and Hyperice position the Hyperslide as a recovery product for a much broader group of users.

The companies suggest the slides can benefit:

  • Athletes recovering after training or competition
  • Travelers experiencing long periods of standing or walking
  • Healthcare professionals and retail workers
  • Anyone spending extended hours on their feet
  • Fitness enthusiasts seeking easier recovery between workouts

By embedding recovery technology into footwear already familiar to athletes- slides commonly worn before and after training- the brands hope to make recovery a more seamless part of daily routines.

A Continuation of Nike’s Recovery Strategy

The Air Zoom Hyperslide represents another step in Nike’s broader investment in recovery-focused innovation.

Nike has increasingly explored products that support preparation, rehabilitation, and recovery. Its collaboration with Hyperice brings together Nike’s expertise in footwear engineering and Air Zoom cushioning with Hyperice’s experience in recovery technologies such as percussion massage, compression systems, and thermal therapy.

The partnership reflects a wider industry trend in which recovery is becoming as important as training itself. Sports science increasingly recognizes that adequate recovery contributes to muscle restoration, reduced fatigue, and long-term performance consistency.

While the Hyperslide does not claim to replace medical treatment or physical therapy, it offers a portable recovery option designed to fit naturally into everyday use.

Minimal Design With Functional Components

Visually, the Air Zoom Hyperslide maintains the familiar shape of a modern recovery slide while integrating advanced technology discreetly.

The adjustable upper houses the removable Hyperslide Pod, while the thick sole accommodates Nike’s Air Zoom cushioning. The design avoids an overtly medical appearance, allowing the product to function equally as casual footwear and recovery equipment.

Because the electronic pod is removable, users can detach it when active recovery functions are unnecessary, making the slide adaptable for regular wear.

Initial launch colorways include Black and Gray/Beige, emphasizing a neutral aesthetic that aligns with Nike’s broader performance footwear range.

Pricing and Availability

The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide will launch on September 29, 2026, in select global markets.

The recovery slide is priced at US$249 (approximately US$250) and will be available through Nike, Hyperice, and selected retail partners. Each package includes the Air Zoom Hyperslide along with the removable magnetic Hyperslide Pods required for the heating and vibration functions.

As wearable recovery technology continues to move beyond professional sports environments, the Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide signals an evolution in how athletic footwear can serve users not only during activity but throughout the recovery process that follows.
