On this episode of PATalks, we are joined by Filippo Nassetti, an architect and computational designer focusing on research and innovation for the architecture and product design industries. After completing his Master’s Degree at the University of Bologna, he worked for Plasma Studio Architects in London along with SPAN in Vienna and consequently co-founded MHOX in 2012. MHOX is an EU-funded start-up focusing on the design of wearable products and speculative prostheses through generative techniques and 3D printing.
A stadium of masquerading lights flickers in an illuminating ambiance! The South Korean Pavilion, designed by Moon Hoon and Mooyuki, explicitly flashes in dazzling shades at the Expo 2020 Dubai. The design concept visualizes the desert sunrise and its rays reflecting upon many dew droplets on a desert flower. The flickering of lights imitates the card stunts of spectators at a soccer stadium, also amassing the vibe of a rock concert. The design well expresses the cohesive and spontaneous energy of Korean ness in the moments the pavilion partakes.
The studio workshop aims to introduce the potentials of material-driven deformation behavior for architectural applications. The workshop is organized by PAACADEMY in collaboration with ITECH, University of Stuttgart. ITECH will provide a certificate of attendance upon delivering the final project.
