    Introduction

AI & Parametric Negotiation explores the dynamic collaboration between designers and AI, emphasizing how minimal designer interventions can transform AI into a creative partner. Tailored for beginners, this workshop introduces participants to Rhino, Grasshopper, and ComfyUI, focusing on generating image-to-image designs and achieving precise results through IPAdapter and ControlNet tools. Participants will engage in an iterative process, negotiating with AI to shape parametric patterns into architectural spaces, all while balancing human control and AI’s creative input to develop unique design outcomes.

    Program:

Part 1 – Creating Designs and Patterns in Rhino and Grasshopper.

    • Navigating the Rhino interface.
    • Designing curves and organic shapes in Rhino.
    • Learning the Grasshopper interface.
    • Creating 2D and later 3D parametric patterns in Grasshopper.
    • Exporting outputs from Rhino that AI understands.
    • Assignment 1 + Q&A

    Part 2 – Midjourney

    • Creating images for style transfer.
    • Learning basic Midjourney commands such as stylize, chaos, and aspect ratio.
    • Assignment 2 + Q&A

Part 3 – Setting up the ComfyUI script

    • Navigating the ComfyUI interface.
    • Introduction to ControlNet (Depth, Sketch, and Canny).
    • Using IPAdapter for style transfer.
    • Debugging any workflow issues.
    • Assignment 3 – Q&A

    Part 4 – Iterating between Parts 1, 2, and 3

    • Final Output & Overview

    Software:

    • Rhino 8 and Grasshopper
    • ComfyUI –
    • ComfyUI + ComfyUI Manager Installation
    • IPAdapter Installation
    • IPAdapter SDXL_VIT-H
    • ControlNet Installation
    • ControlNet SDXL Rank256 – control-lora-depth, control-lora-canny, control-lora-sketch

    Important Notes:

    • The “AI & Parametric Negotiation” Free Studio workshop by PAACADEMY will start on Saturday, 12th October, at 14:00 (GMT).
    • Total sessions: one session
    • The teaching duration per session will be 5 hours.
    • Students will have time for a break between teaching hours.
    • Each session and the entire studio will be recorded, and videos will be available for participants just a day after the class for unlimited time.
    • Software Installation is NOT a part of the workshop. Participants must have all the software installed before starting the workshop.
    • If you cannot install ComfyUI locally, participants can use RunComfy, a platform focused on the Stable Diffusion model. It charges based on server rental time and the number of models used (it supports ControlNet).
    • PAACADEMY will provide a certificate of attendance.
