The Meta-Fluid Studio 3.0 explores the quality and power of Fluid Design to conceive cyber-urban environments in virtual cities. The goal is to create a free-standing virtual city designed by 30 different designers teamed up in 3s. For this studio, some teams will create meta-archi typologies, and some designers will join skills to create a ‘meta-urban’ base. Combined, they will create a free-standing, fluid virtual urban field and prove the Multi-Author Urban Design to be the directionality for the future of virtual cities.

During this studio, the designers will get acquainted with the 3d modeling software Autodesk Maya, the number one software for Fluid Architecture in the current real-life scenario – and Unreal Engine for the immersive experience of their designs.

If you’re interested in learning more about designing cyber-urban environments in virtual cities with Autodesk Maya and Unreal Engine, join us at Meta-Fluid Studio 3.0 – Mariana Cabugueira!

Here are 5 stunning projects made during Meta-Fluid Studio – Mariana Cabugueira:

    The Seasons

The Seasons was designed by Bruno Charles, Ines Pereira, Maritza Rubio, and Teisla Klein as part of PAACADEMY‘s “Meta-Fluid Studio 2.0” with Mariana Cabugueira. The starting point of our project was to understand the client’s needs and goals.

They wanted to ensure that the project aligned with the client’s vision for promoting their brand in the luxury market and connecting physical and digital products. From there, they began brainstorming ideas for how to promote well-being and a quality stay for the users of the building, drawing inspiration from the sophisticated and high-quality partners of the client. This informed their overall goal to design a unique and exclusive building for the users.

The starting point of their project was to capture the beauty and perfection of natural forms in their building design. The team wanted to create a connection between the building and the changing seasons, using this as a way to link people with the positive feelings and sensations of being in nature such as happiness, joy, and relaxation.

    The Yacht Club

    Meta-Fluid

The Yacht Club, a project dreamed up by Dragos Epure, was born from the desire to create a seamless, fluid exhibition space where both NFT collectors and casual viewers could converge. The project was designed as part of PAACADEMY‘s “Meta-Fluid Studio 2.0” with Mariana Cabugueira.

The Yacht Club aims to be more than just an exhibition space for NFTs and digital art. It wants to be a fully immersive experience that blurs the lines between the physical and digital worlds. The mobile platforms and ramps will be designed to be ever-changing, creating a sense of unpredictability and excitement for visitors as they explore the space.

The Yacht Club will also feature virtual reality experiences that allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the art and the metaverse. These experiences will be tailored to each individual visitor, providing a personalized and unique experience. In addition to being a destination for NFT collectors and art enthusiasts, the Yacht Club will also serve as a hub for the creative community. Artists and creators will be able to showcase their work and connect with potential buyers and collaborators.

    Unalome Tower

The UNALOME is a center for tranquility and wellness with a cohesive approach designed by Sofia Stok, Devyani Jain, and Shandon Herft as a part of PAACADEMY’s “Meta-Fluid Studio” with Mariana Cabugueira. The project’s main objective was to create a seamless transition between nature, built and unbuilt while satisfying human senses.

The designers believe architecture is not just about creating a physical structure but a space that actively addresses the five senses. As architects, they can positively impact better health practices. The starting point was to create a magnificent structure around a stimulating waterfall and enable the user to effectively access all the parts of the building. The designers drew inspiration from a lotus flower, and how it is a positive symbol of health and spirituality encouraged us to adopt the idea of embracing its natural shape in architecture while also fulfilling the functional requirements.

    Illuvium Clubhouse and Sanctuary

    Meta-Fluid

Illuvium Clubhouse and Sanctuary project was designed by a team named Violluviaries by Leah Deniz and Giovanna Pillaca as part of PAACADEMY‘s “Meta-Fluid Studio 2.0” with Mariana Cabugueira.

Violluviaries is an interdisciplinary team with different perspectives on architecture and metaverses. On the one hand, Leah Deniz has an understanding of how NFTs and virtual architectures have the potential to revolutionize our economy. And on the other hand, Giovanna Pillaca explored metaverses, virtual platforms, and typologies built for towers, monuments, and temples in futuristic and biomimetic environments.

    The Lotos

The Lotos was designed by Group 7 members; Davide Tessari and Jan Wilk as part of PAACADEMY’s “Meta-Fluid Studio” with Mariana Cabugueira. The theme they have chosen is Meta-wellness. The team wondered what meta-wellness means and how well-being and relaxation zone could enter the virtual world. They understand that the starting point is people’s minds and how and where people relax in the real world. Nature was the first point of reference from the start of the project, and they understood that people to be fully relaxed need peaceful places to forget the issues of everyday life and free their minds.

The research for the idea and the shape of the project started from the forms of nature, just to reconnect us to the main theme. The flowers were ideal, and this is how the whole project takes the form of an island, united but still detached from the rest of the masterplan, surrounded by water, which contributes to creating a relaxing and Zen atmosphere. The island became a small archipelago with numerous trees creating a more private and intimate atmosphere.

    DOPE APES – TANIC

    Meta-Fluid

DOPE APES – TANIC project was designed by Min Zheng, Jhoselyn Pimentel, Kkrish Rathod, and Vanessa Wolek as part of PAACADEMY‘s “Meta-Fluid Studio 2.0” with Mariana Cabugueira.

The Meta-Fluid Studio investigates the quality and power of Fluid Design in the creation of virtual cities. At Meta-Fluid Studio, under the direction of Mariana Cabugueira, the team got together to design a clubhouse for the Metaverse, the team started by doing research about the clients given to them. They studied the company profiles. All the members of their team came up with their choice of client and finally, after a discussion, we decided to go with Bored Ape Yacht Club. We did in-depth research about which sectors of web3 BAYC work in.

After all the research, they started putting their ideas on the Miro board. Their initial ideas on the Miro board about the theme, zones of the structure, look and feel. With all the ideas put together on the board, they were ready to start the concept design.

    Metamorphic Museum

Metamorphic Museum is a virtual museum designed by G1 members; Daryna Chernyshova, Montez, and Muhammad Chowdhury. The team created this project under PACADEMY’s  “Meta-Fluid Studio” with Mariana Cabugueira.

When the Metamorphic Museum team started their project, they studied where Plot 1 was situated and how near they were to towers, water, and other structures on the base. They chose the virtual museum as their building typology as it was an early favorite. They then discussed core design principles their team shared and design shapes they wanted to explore. From these initial discussions and idea dumps, the team landed on some clear themes and imagery.

    BLOOM

BLOOM project was designed by Aseel Elashry, Nada Yaakoub, Qian Gu, and Zahid Pasha as part of PAACADEMY‘s “Meta-Fluid Studio 2.0” with Mariana Cabugueira.

The Meta-Fluid Studio investigates the quality and power of Fluid Design in the creation of virtual cities. The goal was to create a self-contained virtual city designed by 30 different designers working in groups of four. Some teams will create meta-archi typologies for this studio, while others will pool their talents to create a ‘Meta-Urban’ foundation. When combined, they will create a self-contained, fluid virtual urban field, demonstrating that Multi-Author Urban Design is the future of virtual cities.

Bloom is an experience, rather than a building. It’s a journey that takes users into the very depths of the veins that tie together fashion and the human body, using the team’s perception of the expression shown by the client, in terms of the brand identity, as well as the artist, Takashi Murakami.

    Meta Stadium

Meta Stadium is a virtual football arena designed to initiate an ecosystem for entertainment, including individual and collective experiences, whether you are a player or a spectator. Archi3 group members; Leonardo Ali, Amal Al-Mahmoud, and Gilang Fajar Kusumawardana designed Meta Stadium, as a part of PAACADEMY’s “Meta-Fluid Studio” with Mariana Cabugueira. The primary approach in design was to take advantage of the flexibility and freedom of designing in Metaverse to make the design available as an arena for other sports, concerts, and performances.

The decision to explore the stadium typology originated from the group members’ collective interest in sports. Like each member of the group, the typology is truly international with iconic stadia located worldwide, rooted deeply in the center of communities. They all agreed that sports offer a variety of entertainment opportunities. There are both group and personal experiences, whether you’re a participant or a viewer, that all combine to provide the atmosphere of the stadium as it is known in the physical world.
