Swarming Colonies is a generative design project and is one of the projects to come out of the DIGITAL ECOLOGY– GENERATIVE CITY studio workshop by PAACADEMY and tutored by Soomeen Hahm and Hanjun Kim. Designed by two talented students, Simina-Ioana and Deeksha Basawaraj, the project is rooted in a synergy of traditional Indian and Romanian patterns derived from traditional architecture of both countries and is envisioned within a dying coniferous forest situated in a post apocalyptic world by Simina- Loana Dimcea and Deeksha Basawaraj.
Hanging Eco-Gardens is an Eco-Parametric structure designed by three talented students Ara Keuroghlian, Luis Lopez, Yervant Megurditchian, as part of the PAACADEMY’s ‘Eco-Parametric Structures’ studio workshop with Arthur Mamou-Mani.
Fungus Among Us is an Eco-Parametric architectural system designed by two enthusiastic architects, Eliana Nigro and Marc-Antoine Chartier-Primeau, as part of the PAACADEMY’s ‘Eco-Parametric Structures’ studio workshop with Arthur Mamou-Mani. A first iteration of this adaptable structure was explored on Kongens Nytorv, the King’s Square, in Copenhagen. The Eco-Parametric Structures workshop organized by PAACADEMY was held from 2nd March to the 13th April 2021 on an online platform. Studio Mamou-Mani is one of the studio workshops at the PAACADEMY with a focus on combining sustainability with parametric design. The studio with the 6 intriguing sessions lead by London based architect,…
The Kale Systems inspiration was taken from common kale (Brassica Oleracea), on which the edges of its green leaves grow significantly faster and larger than the core of the leaves, resulting in overall folded curly shapes with large surface areas. The edge growth has been simulated in Grasshopper using tools from Kangaroo. By a set of rules, seemingly random lines are being generated, recorded growing over time. The generated lines are then connected to a delicate surface, which is the common driver for further explorations. The Eco-Parametric Structures workshop organized by PAACADEMY was held from 2nd March to the 13th…
In this episode of PA Talks, Erick Carcamo of Allblackform joined us from Los Angeles, USA to discuss about his academic and practice life in architecture, the importance of using new digital tools in design, and the Architectural Follies workshop at the PAACADEMY.
‘NARTURE’ is an Eco-Parametric Architectural structure created by 5 students: Abiodun Shonibare, Alessandro Farina, Mark Farhat Giusti, Romain Russe, and Vasiliki Tsimpouki known as the Puffer Team in the PAACADEMY’s ‘Eco-Parametric Structures’ studio workshop with Arthur-Mamou-Mani. This structure is located in the dense Dainava forest in Lithuania. The Eco-Parametric Structures workshop organized by PAACADEMY was held from 2nd March to the 13th April 2021 on an online platform. Studio Mamou-Mani is one of the studio workshops at the PAACADEMY with a focus on combining sustainability with parametric design.
