In this episode of PA Talks, Erick Carcamo of Allblackform joined us from Los Angeles, USA, to discuss his academic and practice life in architecture, the importance of using new digital tools in design, and the Architectural Follies workshop at the PAACADEMY.
Erick Cárcamo is the Principal and co-founder of AllBlackForm – an international practice based in Los Angeles. Erick has taught numerous design studios and visual studies seminars at various universities, both in the USA and Europe, recently including Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Southern California Institute of Architecture, UPenn School of Design, and previously has taught at Yale School of Architecture, GSAPP, IoA, Institute of Architecture at the university of applied arts, in Vienna, Lund Technical University in Sweden, among others.

Alongside his professional work and career, he has established a distinguished academic 12-year teaching career.
Erick has held academic appointments to teach and coordinate both undergrad and graduate-level core studios, as well as experimental option studios, in the USA and Europe, including:

- UPenn school of Design
- Yale School of Architecture
- Columbia University – GSAPP, NYC

In Addition to his university teaching appointments, Erick has developed a Workshop teaching model, which his company has conducted every summer since 2008 in multiple universities worldwide. This privately-run summer program has grown into a well-established and recognized series of experimental teachings, where he applies his expertise.
