    Introduction:

In a world often driven by speed, complexity, and constant change, architecture has the power to create moments of clarity, balance, and permanence. Beyond fulfilling functional needs, it shapes how we experience light, material, and space,

Transforming everyday environments into places of calm and contemplation. As contemporary architecture evolves, the pursuit of simplicity demands greater precision, where every proportion, detail, and connection contributes to a timeless spatial experience.

Today, architecture is defined not by excess, but by restraint. Through the careful orchestration of geometry, light, and material, spaces become immersive environments that evoke emotion while maintaining remarkable clarity. The most enduring works demonstrate that simplicity is not the absence of complexity, but the result of mastering it.

Fran Silvestre, founder of Fran Silvestre Arquitectos, has established an internationally recognized architectural practice defined by precision, minimalism, and the seamless integration of architecture, light, and landscape. His work explores how proportion, materiality, and construction can be refined to their essential qualities, creating spaces that are both timeless and deeply connected to their surroundings.

From private residences and cultural buildings to large-scale urban developments, his projects demonstrate a rigorous design methodology where every element is carefully considered to achieve clarity, elegance, and spatial harmony. Through a commitment to craftsmanship and innovation, his practice redefines contemporary architecture as an experience shaped by light, purity, and enduring simplicity.

Join us on Friday, July 24th at 13:00 GMT as PAACADEMY hosts Fran Silvestre for an exclusive 45-minute open talk, followed by a 15-minute live Q&A. During the session, he will present key projects and share insights into the design philosophy, creative process, and architectural principles that define his internationally acclaimed practice.

    Speaker:

    Fran Silvestre

Fran Silvestre is a Doctor of Architecture who graduated with honors from the UPV and earned a Magna Cum Laude doctorate in design. He also holds a degree in urban planning from TU/e in the Netherlands. Currently, he is a professor at UPV and the European University, where he also leads the MArch Postgraduate School in Architecture and Design. He previously served as vice-director of the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Valencia and held the Victor L. Regnier Chair at KSU in the United States. Early in his career, he trained with the Portuguese Pritzker Prize winner Álvaro Siza.

Founded in 2005, Fran Silvestre Arquitectos is based in Valencia in the former workshop of sculptor Andreu Alfaro. The multidisciplinary studio of more than 50 professionals works on residential, cultural, corporate, and public projects worldwide. Throughout his career, Silvestre has received numerous international honors, including the Red Dot Design Award, German Design Award (2016, 2020, 2021, 2024), IF Design Award, NYCxDESIGN Award, the XIII Spanish Architecture Biennial Design Prize, and the International Federation of Architects and Designers Gold Medal in Architecture.

He has lectured at institutions including KSU, AIA New York, and Virginia Tech, exhibited at Museu Serralves and MoMA, and his work has been widely published by Architectural Record, Phaidon, Taschen, Thames & Hudson, and Rizzoli. The studio’s projects span Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East, with notable works including the Cliff House (Spain), Balint House (Spain), House in Hollywood Hills (USA), Zibo Master Plan (China), Boutique Hotel (Croatia), and Eolic Tower (Spain). Influenced by Álvaro Siza and Andreu Alfaro, the studio’s architecture is recognized for its precision, purity, and ability to elevate everyday life through light, proportion, and simplicity.
