The partnership between HP and Ferrari has moved beyond Formula 1 sponsorship and into product engineering. Unveiled ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, the new HP Limited Edition Scuderia Ferrari AI PC is a high-performance laptop that combines Ferrari’s design philosophy with HP’s latest AI computing technologies. The project represents nearly two years of collaboration between Ferrari Design Studio and HP’s industrial design and engineering teams.

Limited to just 4,999 units worldwide and priced at $5,599, the machine targets a niche segment of luxury technology buyers, collectors, and engineers seeking exclusivity alongside computing power.

Ferrari’s Design Language Moves Beyond the Racetrack

The most distinctive aspect of the laptop is how deeply automotive identity has been integrated into the hardware design. Finished in Ferrari’s signature Rosso Magma red, the chassis is CNC-machined from aluminum and incorporates carbon-fiber elements inspired by the construction techniques used in Ferrari vehicles.

HP and Ferrari have focused on the underside features, a Gorilla Glass panel inspired by Ferrari engine bays, allowing users to view internal cooling components. Laser-drilled ventilation patterns, Ferrari-inspired air channels, and etched coordinates of Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters and HP’s Palo Alto roots reinforce the narrative of a design collaboration.

Additional touches include vent geometry, a hidden haptic trackpad, serialized numbering on each unit, and a premium carrying sleeve crafted using materials associated with interiors.

Built for the AI Computing Era

HP positions the device as an AI PC capable of handling demanding on-device AI workloads. At the heart of the system is Intel’s Core Ultra X7 358H processor paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics. HP claims the platform can deliver up to 180 TOPS (trillion operations per second), a metric increasingly used to measure AI processing capability.

    The laptop is equipped with:

    • Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor
    • Intel Arc B390 graphics
    • 64GB LPDDR5X memory
    • 1TB SSD storage
    • Wi-Fi 7 connectivity
    • Thunderbolt 4 ports
    • HDMI output
    • USB-A and USB-C connectivity
    • High-resolution 3K Tandem OLED+ touchscreen display

The hardware configuration places the machine closer to a premium mobile workstation than a conventional luxury notebook, with AI acceleration and content-creation workloads being central to its positioning.

A New Direction for Luxury Computing

The launch highlights a growing trend where automotive brands are expanding into consumer technology through meaningful design collaborations. Ferrari’s influence is visible in thermal management, material selection, structural engineering, and manufacturing details.

HP became Ferrari’s Formula 1 title partner in 2024; the two companies have collaborated on data analysis, simulation workflows, engineering operations, and workplace technologies supporting racing activities.

    Exclusivity as a Product Strategy

Ferrari has long relied on controlled production volumes to maintain exclusivity, and that philosophy extends to the AI PC. Only 4,999 units will be produced globally, with each device individually numbered. The laptop will be available in select markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Japan, Australia, Spain, Switzerland, and France.

This limited production run positions the laptop less as a mass-market computing device and more as a collector-grade technology product, comparable to limited-edition luxury watches or automotive memorabilia.

HP and Ferrari Built an AI PC

The HP Limited Edition Scuderia Ferrari AI PC arrives at a moment when AI hardware is becoming a major differentiator in the PC industry. While many manufacturers are competing on processing power alone, HP and Ferrari are attempting to combine AI performance, premium industrial design, and brand heritage into a single product.

Whether it is viewed as a luxury collector’s item or a glimpse into the future of premium computing, the device demonstrates how automotive engineering principles are increasingly influencing the next generation of AI-powered hardware. For HP, it is a showcase of advanced PC design; for Ferrari, it is another example of extending the brand beyond the racetrack without losing its performance-driven identity.
