Southern California is preparing for a major evolution in live entertainment with the arrival of the OCVIBE Concert Hall, a purpose-built, artist-driven venue designed to reshape the concert experience in Orange County. Scheduled to open in early 2027 as part of the larger OCVIBE mixed-use entertainment district surrounding Honda Center, the new 5,000-capacity concert hall represents one of the most significant entertainment infrastructure projects currently underway in California.
Developed within the 100-acre OCVIBE campus in Anaheim, the venue is designed as a concert hall and as a scalable ecosystem for artists, fans, broadcasters, and event producers. The project introduces a new tier of performance infrastructure to Orange County, filling a long-standing gap between intimate club venues and arena-scale performances. Emerging performers will be able to debut at the future 300-capacity Golden Bear venue, the new 5,000-seat concert hall, and ultimately headline the 18,000-seat Honda Center, all within one connected entertainment district. This layered performance model is rare in Southern California and positions Anaheim as a year-round destination for touring productions and live entertainment.
A Landmark Entertainment Venue Designed by Populous
The OCVIBE Concert Hall has been designed by Populous, the internationally recognized architecture firm responsible for many of the world’s leading sports and entertainment destinations. The venue’s architecture draws inspiration from musical instruments and amplification systems, combining sculptural design language with high-performance acoustic engineering.
The exterior architecture emphasizes movement, sound, and energy while maintaining flexibility for multiple event formats. Beyond concerts, the venue is designed to accommodate comedy performances, esports competitions, award shows, televised productions, speaking engagements, sporting events, and private functions.
Inside, the project focuses heavily on intimacy and audience immersion. The seating bowl has been engineered to deliver close sightlines from every level, while advanced acoustic planning ensures consistent sound clarity throughout the venue. The concert hall will feature more than 18,000 square feet of event floor space distributed across three seating tiers, allowing the building to adapt to different production scales and audience configurations.
A state-of-the-art sound system from L-Acoustics will anchor the venue’s acoustic performance, reinforcing the project’s commitment to delivering premium live audio experiences for both artists and audiences.
Artist-Centered Design at the Core of the Project
One of the defining aspects of the OCVIBE Concert Hall is its strong emphasis on artist hospitality and backstage functionality. Unlike many mid-size venues that prioritize audience infrastructure over performer experience, this project has been developed around the operational realities of modern touring.
The venue will include six dedicated dressing rooms, including two bungalow-style private artist suites designed to provide arena-level comfort within a more intimate concert environment. Additional backstage amenities include crew kitchens, showers, gated bus parking, friends-and-family rooms, and an open-air backstage courtyard designed specifically to embrace Southern California’s climate.
This open and connected backstage environment reflects a broader shift in entertainment venue design, where artist wellness, crew logistics, and production efficiency are increasingly viewed as essential parts of the live performance experience.
According to project leaders, every component of the venue, from circulation patterns to acoustic treatments and backstage flow, has been planned to create a seamless environment for performers and touring staff.
The Stretto: Public Art Integrated Into the Entertainment District
A major architectural feature of the project is the Stretto, a 62-foot-tall steel art installation positioned at the southeast corner of the venue. Clad in louvered metal panels, the installation acts as both a sculptural landmark and a visual gateway connecting the concert hall to the surrounding Urban Park within OCVIBE.
The Stretto forms part of OCVIBE’s broader public art initiative, which seeks to integrate large-scale artistic installations throughout the entertainment district. Beneath the structure, the Stretto Café will operate as a daily gathering destination, helping activate the venue beyond event hours and reinforcing the district’s year-round public realm strategy.
OCVIBE Concert Hall Brings a New Era of Live Entertainment
The project also introduces a new premium hospitality concept known as The Gallagher Club. Designed as an elevated viewing and entertainment environment, the club will offer private access, premium sightlines, dedicated venue entry, and luxury hospitality amenities tailored to concerts, comedy performances, and special events.
Throughout the venue, the guest experience has been carefully considered through intuitive circulation planning, multiple gathering zones, and enhanced food and beverage infrastructure. The concert hall will feature eight bars, eight restroom banks, and four family restrooms to improve operational flow and reduce congestion during high-capacity events.
The venue’s flexible infrastructure also supports broadcast-ready productions, helping position Anaheim as a future host city for nationally televised events and entertainment programming.
OCVIBE and the Transformation of Anaheim’s Entertainment Landscape
The concert hall forms a central component of the broader OCVIBE development, one of the most significant mixed-use entertainment projects currently underway in Southern California. Led by the owners of the Anaheim Ducks, the district is transforming the area surrounding Honda Center into a fully integrated entertainment, dining, hospitality, and cultural destination.
When the first phase opens in early 2027, OCVIBE will introduce multiple new public and commercial spaces, including Katella Commons, a 21-vendor chef-driven food hall, The Weave office building, Urban Park, and expanded pedestrian-focused gathering areas.
The district is designed to operate as a continuous entertainment ecosystem where sports, concerts, dining, festivals, and public events coexist throughout the year.
