Its undulating enclosure interrupts the usual traffic, as an unexpected, emergent environment. It appears to have bubbled up from the ground, or dropped from the sky. Vespertine by Eric Owen Moss in Culver City, California A preliminary study model made from a square pile of note paper, describes a concept for a tower which is not quite a regular box, nor a clear, spatial departure from the regular box. Rather the model suggests a conceptually soft geometry, or better, a twisted tower. Flamingo Bamboo Pavilion by BambuBuild in Vietnam This bamboo structure was previously designed as an exhibition kiosk before finding new life as a bar and restaurant. Bambubuild — a team of bamboo specialists based in vietnam — was first commissioned to develop plans for a pavilion for vietnam’s international travel mart in 2015. The client requested a unique stand, which could be quickly and easily assembled. Importantly, the brief called for a structure which could be used again and again. The philosophy behind the design of the Jönköping Station is based on the connection between the city of Jönköping and surrounding nature demonstrated through the use of a light and playful wooden canopy structure, partly transparent and open towards the city on one side and Munksjön lake on the other.
