D5 Render announces 22 new features and 190+ new assets in D5 Render 2.8

D5 Render, a leader in real-time rendering solutions, is excited to announce the release of D5 Render 2.8. This latest version introduces a range of innovative features and enhancements designed to elevate the rendering experience for architects, designers, and visualization professionals.

AI Enhancer(beta): Elevating Detail and Precision

The AI Enhancer tool is one of the standout features in D5 Render 2.8. This powerful tool enhances various elements within your renders, including lighting, materials, characters, vehicles, and vegetation. It allows for selective area enhancement with three intensity levels—weak, normal, and strong—ensuring that your renders are more detailed and realistic. The AI Enhancer Channel improves the accuracy of area selection, providing precise control over enhancements and the ability to track and view enhancement tasks within your D5 account.

    Advanced Lighting Effects

Lighting is crucial in rendering, and D5 Render 2.8 introduces several enhancements to master this element:

Optimized Semi-Transparent Effect: Achieve stunning effects like colored gradient glass by enabling the ‘Affected by Light’ option. Adjust the opacity value and use black-and-white maps to control the opacity pattern, allowing for dynamic light interaction.

Sunlight Caustics: Simulate realistic sunlight refraction and reflection, enhancing HDRI scenes with adjustable intensity and softness. Enable the caustics option for ‘Custom’, ‘Transparent’, and ‘Water’ material templates to display reflection and refraction caustics effectively.

Rainbow Flare Effect: Add a colorful halo around the sun, mimicking real-world camera effects and adding depth to outdoor scenes.

Enhanced HDRI Sky Colors: The new ‘Sky Color’ option for HDRI allows for hue and saturation adjustments, providing control over the sky’s color and intensity. This feature helps set the perfect mood in your scenes, whether aiming for a vibrant day or a subtle, atmospheric setting.

Optimized Workflow Integrations: Efficiency is at the heart of D5 Render 2.8 with new LiveSync integrations for Rhino and Vectorworks. These integrations allow real-time synchronization of model edits, materials, and viewports, ensuring seamless updates and an uninterrupted workflow, keeping the creative process smooth and efficient.

    Expanded Asset Library

The asset library has expanded significantly, with over 190 new models, including construction site equipment, animated machinery, and vehicles. These additions provide a robust toolkit for creating detailed and dynamic project visualizations, catering specifically to the needs of the AEC industry.

    New and Enhanced Features

Sculpture and PBR Styles to ‘Text to 3D’: New styles enhance the detail and realism of text-based 3D models.

Optimized Make Seamless Interaction: Uses image analysis technologies to automatically determine and remove seams vertically, horizontally, or in both directions.

Opacity Map to Displacement Material Template: Enables precise control over material cutting, achieving uneven and hollow effects on hedges, fences, bamboo weaving surfaces, and more.

Real-Time AO Adjustments: Enhance details directly in the viewport with the new “AO Overlay in Preview” feature. Found under Effect > Style, this tool allows real-time adjustment of ambient occlusion (AO) intensity, eliminating the need for post-production software. It streamlines your workflow, reduces export time, and boosts efficiency, enabling designers to fine-tune AO effects on the fly for greater detail and depth.

    Performance Improvements

D5 Render 2.8 includes several optimizations for a smoother rendering experience:

Reduced Memory Usage: Optimized image rendering algorithms minimize peak memory usage, reducing the risk of crashes.

Enhanced User Experience: Designed with the user in mind, D5 Render 2.8 features community-driven language packs, improved gizmo rotation, and mouse speed adjustments in navigation modes, making the design process smoother and more intuitive.

    Additional Features

Upgraded D5 Scatter: Added Cull Effect to define areas free of scattering plants/objects and supports saving scatter presets for easy reuse.

Visibility Control in Video Mode: Added visibility toggle for models and layers, facilitating keyframe animations by allowing them to be shown/hidden.

Animation Controller for Models: Supports animated models in Video mode, enhancing dynamic presentations.

    Availability

D5 Render 2.8 is now available for download. Experience the latest features and enhancements designed to elevate your rendering projects. Download D5 Render 2.8 for free and explore these cutting-edge tools firsthand.
